Traditionally, technical communicators manage the metadata for variants and publication in a component content management system (CCMS). But what happens when additional metadata, e.g., from a product ontology, is added? Does it all go into the CCMS? Ulrike Parson and Dr Achim Steinacker present an approach for the external configuration of metadata and show how this configuration drives the CCMS to create or compile modules.
